Setting Your Retail Price

When applying to join the StackCommerce Network, you will be asked to provide the suggested retail price for your online course (MSRP) and the lowest price your course is currently available for online. This is the price, that if your course wasn't on sale, would be the amount a student would have to pay for it.

How StackCommerce Sets Your Sale Price

Once our merchandising team has the MSRP and the lowest sale price of your course on the web, they'll determine a sale price for your course based on those inputs, current and historical pricing data, and consumer purchasing trends. We will never set a sales price above the MSRP, and we typically aim to set the sales price within 10% of the lowest price your course is currently available for online. You will have the ability to review your course and sales price before we post it to our network.

**Our Course Pricing Guide**

The Sales Price for a singular Course is typically between $9 to $49. The Sales Price will be determined by some or all of the following:

  • Number of Hours
  • Numbers of Lectures
  • Seasonal Demand
  • Categorical Performance
  • Lowest Price on the Web
  • Course Ratings and Quality

Below are a few examples of how pricing works:

EXAMPLE 1:

Learn to Use Adobe Suite

Course Category & Hours of Content: Design

Instructor Submitted MSRP: $129

Lowest Online Price: $50 at TeachMeDesign.com

Selected Sales Price: $50

In this case, StackCommerce have selected a Sales Price equal to the Instructor Provided Lowest Online Price as it is reflective of the content category, quality and duration, and lowest available price on the web.

EXAMPLE 2:

SEO Training Course

Course Category: Development

Instructor Submitted MSRP: $99

Lowest Online Price: $59 at CoursesForCoders.com

Selected Sales Price: $55

In this case, StackCommerce has a selected a Sales Price lower than the Lowest Online Price. The Instructor would be able to view the selected Sales Price prior to the Course going live on the Network.
